Disney Studios has consistently produced some of the best animated story interpretations and lighthearted movies for children and adults since 1939. For this listing, we will include only songs original to Disney Studios. Here are the top ten Disney songs in no particular order.

  1. “Whistle While You Work”, from Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs. With a metronomic beat, this easy to listen to song became a favorite of children. The inspiring lyrics encourage cheerfulness while getting the job done.

  4. “Hakuna Matata”, from The Lion King. Hakuna Matata means ‘no worries’ in Swahili. Children love saying it, and in true Disney tradition this song is a cheerful one.
  5. Top Ten Disney Songs“Colors of The Wind”, from Pocahontas. Differing from most Disney songs, this was a chart-topper on the radio. Colors of The Wind embraces the idea of all the world being unified and is a thoughtful rather than a merely happy tune.
  6. “Part of Your World”, from The Little Mermaid. The re-working of this aged fairy tale comes to life so beautifully, with this song being more of less the theme music of the film. The winsome longing in this melody speaks to all who want something more than their daily bread.
  7. “A Whole New World”, from Aladdin. Like “Colors of The Wind”, this Disney tune was also a chart-topper on the radio. When sung by the popular stars of the day, a song from a children’s movie has an impact on all ages.
  8. “You’ve Got A Friend In Me”, from Toy Story. Disney songs have increasingly become big business, attracting high-profile songwriters. This song is about true friendship and resonates that message in a unique way.
  9. “You Can Fly, You Can Fly, You Can Fly”, from Peter Pan. From one of Disney’s older animations, this song became a classic with kids, because who doesn’t want to fly?
  10. “Winnie The Pooh”, from The Adventures of Winnie The Pooh. This charming song is a keeper and will last well into the future as even more children become acquainted with Pooh and his friends. It is such a simple song to sing that even the smallest tot can manage a few of the words.
